Meet the Owner/Director

Kirkintilloch Nursery is owned by Georgios Kantopoulos, an experienced business owner and entrepreneur, originally from Greece who has over 12 years of experience in managing, owning and running successful businesses. Georgios decided to open a nursery as he wanted to make a difference in the local community, providing a high quality, affordable and flexible childcare and educational establishment. He wanted to create a nursery for local families to access ensuring that their children’s unique learning needs and development needs were being met at all times, ensuring the nursery was a place ‘where children thrive’.

Georgios continues to work full time as an orthodontist and relies on his experienced management team to operate and manage the nursery on a daily basis, together they form the Senior Management Team. In his spare time Georgios enjoys socialising, go karting and playing football. He also likes taking time to appreciate the spectacular scenery and stunning Scottish landscape which surrounds him.

Meet the Manager

Kirkintilloch Nursery is managed by an experienced and dedicated manager who has over 10 years experience working in leadership and Senior Management positions in Early Years across Scotland. Danielle supported the owner in renovating and setting up the nursery in the initial stages and continues to manage the nursery on a daily basis alongside the Deputy Manager. Danielle has a wealth of knowledge and thrives under pressure. A key area of passion for Danielle is quality assurance, delivering and managing training with staff and ensuring that learning environments are high quality to support all aspects of learning.

In previous employment Danielle has taken on a variety of roles including being a Quality Assurance Manager for a group of early years settings, supporting and managing the acquisition of new settings, auditing and controlling quality and service improvements in line with Care Inspectorate recommendations and requirements. In addition, Danielle has managed several nurseries, after school clubs, playgroups and also taken on Senior Management, multi-site management and Area Manager roles in Early Years across Scotland.

Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her partner, socialising with friends and exploring the outdoors often going on trips to visit new places. She also enjoys relaxing, often visiting spa’s with friends and family.
